Busans mature IT industry has served as a growth engine, provided its accumulated knowledge and skills, and recently entered a new phase through IT/CT convergence, displaying more creative capacity.

The IT industry utilizes a technological basis, notably Ubiquitous Technology, to make a paradigm shift, while the CT industry uses a technological basis and the new paradigm to produce creativity and cultural pleasure. So, it is no exaggeration the modern people living in this revolutionary age are evolving into "Ubiquitous Homo Ludens," human beings who pursue pleasure, the highest human needs, through Ubiquitous Technology.

The revolution in IT/CT industry offers opportunities, and it is in this age of revolution in the IT/CT industry that the Busan IT Promotion Agency should provide guidance. We will be committed to nurturing Busan as the hub of global IT business and R&D in Northeast Asia. To this end, high-tech infrastructure should be established by building a Busan U-Center, and attracting superior companies and research centers.

Once research on next generation logistics IT, ship and IT/NT convergence helps establish locally specialized clusters, our Busan U-City project, in cooperation with leading businesses in Busan, will take the lead in generating local demand for IT, and eventually strengthening local IT industry competitiveness. This will turn help achieve our nurturing goal of 8 trillion dollars in production, or about 12% of Busans GRDP.

To this end, we will thoroughly investigate the state of the IT industry in Busan, networking all related organizations in Busan, the IT industry, academia and research centers, and locating the Busan IT Promotion Agency in the hub.

In addition, the Busan IT Promotion Agency will meld culture, technology and contents for the local CT industry in the pursuit of CONVERGENCE IN 3C. To this end, we seek to build culture infrastructure and combine it with Culture Technology, exploring Creative Contents.
